Leading energy efficiency provider Budderfly announced that it will purchase 2,000+ high-efficiency, DOE-compliant HVAC systems from Carrier to close an industry-wide supply deficit and deploy them at zero-upfront cost to its customers to enable rapid uptake. Seemingly mundane pieces of technology, HVACs are the lynchpin keeping our favorite fast-food restaurants open for business. Few other market sectors rely on HVACs to the extent that restaurants do, but global supply challenges have made it very hard for independent SMBs, who can’t compete with higher bidders, to get their hands on ones that meet new DOE efficiency standards.
