White-Rodgers Makes Contribution to Homes for Our Troops

ST. LOUIS — Ron Miles, vice-president of aftermarket sales for White-Rodgers, has selected Homes for Our Troops to receive an Emerson Charitable Trust contribution of $2000.

Miles attributes the decision to donate to Homes for Our Troops from his attendance at the 2013 HARDI Annual Conference on the evening that Homes for Our Troops was highlighted. That event moved Miles to choose Homes for Our Troops for his company’s charitable contribution.

Homes for Our Troops is an organization that builds specially adapted homes for the most severely injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. An employee from HARDI member Geary Pacific Corporation participated in the groundbreaking of the Maynard home in Arizona and HARDI invited the Maynard family to be recognized at the conference held in Phoenix last December.

White-Rodgers, a business of Emerson Climate Technologies, is a controls supplier to OEM manufacturers and sells thermostats and replacement HVAC controls through the aftermarket.

As of September 20, 2014, Homes for Our Troops has built 168 specially adapted homes nationwide. There are currently 50 veterans on their active project list and their goal is to build a home for every veteran who qualifies for one of their homes.
