Reardon Named SMACNA Chapter Executive Legislative Advocate of the Year

SAN ANTONIO — William F. Reardon, CAE, chapter executive of the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity was recognized as the Chapter Executive Legislative Advocate of the Year at the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) 71st Annual Convention.

“Bill has long been a legislative coalition builder, a SMAC PAC program enthusiast and policy innovator on many issues for our association and for his members in the greater Philadelphia region,” said Randy Novak, 2014 SMACNA president. “He represents our industry with an energy level few can match.”

Active at the national and state levels, Reardon has won great respect and is a familiar face to legislators on Capitol Hill and at home. He makes politics a priority for the chapter. The Philadelphia SMACNA chapter always ranks near the top in SMACNA’s political action committee fund-raising efforts.

He brings his members to Washington, D.C. on numerous occasions to lobby for pension reform, OSHA reforms, prevailing wages, procurement reforms and tax issues to just name a few.

To qualify for SMACNA’s Chapter Executive Legislative Advocate of the Year, candidates must actively lead in both political and legislative chapter affairs, maintain effective contacts at the local, state and national levels and motivate their members to act. This year’s winner has done all that and more.
