Nexstar Debuts Training and Accountability Programs

Nexstar Network debuted its Leadership for Owners course, introduced its new Call Center training class, and launched its training accountability program at its annual Owners’ Spotlight Series last week in New Orleans, Louisiana. More than 225 PHCE contractors participated in a hands-on workshop focused on identifying personal leadership qualities and developing successful business strategies.

Attendees of last week’s event experienced first-hand exclusive content from Nexstar’s Leadership for Owners class that will be available to Nexstar members in November 2013. Nexstar member and master trainer Bill Raymond, owner Frank & Lindy Plumbing, Heating & AC, led the group through what makes a great leader, understanding and developing their own leadership styles, and creating a vision and practical strategies to reach their business goals.

“This year, we focused our annual owners’ meeting on sharing practical strategies participants can use for leading a great business,” said Jack Tester, Nexstar Network president & CEO. “Members will take away from this event a clear vision for their companies and a good understanding of the guiding principles that influence their companies’ cultures, including their own leadership styles.”

Nexstar continues to enhance its industry-leading training curriculum geared toward PHCE companies’ front line staff and leaders with its new call

center training class. Developed by Nexstar member and trainer, Dave Boduch, owner Danboise Mechanical Inc., Nexstar’s Call Center School 2.0 follows the proven training techniques outlined in Nexstar’s proprietary Service System program to help companies transform their Call Centers into one of the most productive teams in an organization. 

As part of its on-going commitment to exceptional training, Nexstar also announced that it will offer a new training accountability program which will be led by a dedicated Nexstar training implementation specialist, Julian Scadden. This additional level of training support will ensure Nexstar members have access to unparalleled support to achieve the most immediate and significant results possible once they complete a course of training.

Scadden joins Nexstar with a long career in the service industry, including home residential service companies and large service corporations. Scadden was introduced to the Nexstar training and coaching philosophy while working for Nexstar member, Plumbline Services. In his new role at Nexstar, Scadden will work directly with the service and sales managers who send technicians and sales professionals to Nexstar’s front line training courses. His primary focus will be to help make sure these managers have the follow up structure and accountability systems in place to bring Nexstar training to life in their staff.

Nexstar’s Owners’ Spotlight event kicked off with keynote speaker Mike Abrashoff, former Commander of the USS Benfold and author of “It’s Your Ship” and “Get Your Ship Together”, who shared leadership lessons he learned as a “mid-level manager in a 300,000 person organization”. Abrashoff’s success was founded in his ability and willingness to listen to his crew, encourage them to help drive the ship’s direction, and support what they needed to be successful.
