In an effort to provide support to independent contractors, distributors and technicians, Johnson Controls recently introduced a new two-disc DVD/Windows software training set for York air-to-air heat pumps. The two-disc set is the third in the ProficienTECH series of media-based technical training from Johnson Controls-Unitary Products.

With an emphasis placed on the heat pump sequence of operation, the 50-minute DVD covers each heat pump component to give the viewer a thorough understanding of component operation within the system. Important control information and a detailed explanation of the defrost mode is also provided in an easy-to-understand format.

The accompanying Windows software incorporates a library of service and installation information. An interactive theater plays video clips and a step-by-step tutorial on the electrical operation of single- and two-stage heat pump systems. The software is designed for Windows PCs and includes an automatic update feature to keep the latest product information on the user’s Windows desktop.
