Newly Appointed AMCA International President

Gary Benson, president of Willowbrook, Ill.-based Mechanovent Corp., a New York Blower Co., was elected president of the Air Movement and Control Association Inc. (AMCA International).

In 1987 Benson joined the New York Blower Co. and was appointed vice president of marketing in 1989. In 1996 he was elected to the company’s board of directors. Benson also served as chairman of the board for Mechanovent Corp. and Barron Industries. In 2004, he was named president of Mechanovent.

During his 20-year tenure in theindustry, Benson has enjoyed a lengthy association with AMCA International serving on several committees including: Global Understanding Taskforce, Fan System Assessment Tool Taskforce, Facilities Needs Project and the Air Movement Division.

A Minnesota native, Benson graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.
