Attendance tops 47,000: The International Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating (AHR) Exposition, held Jan. 28 to 31 in Dallas and sponsored by American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI), had 1,789 total exhibiting companies and 354,057 square feet of net exhibit space. Total Expo attendance topped 47,000, including 28,130 visitors and 19,065 registered exhibitor personnel.
The next AHR Expo will be Jan. 22 to 24 at the Javits Convention Center in New York. Green Mechanical Council formed: Six groups announced that they have formed the Green Mechanical Council, with goals of improving energy efficiency and reducing pollution within the structural mechanical system industry. Founding representatives include Jerry Weiss, HVACR Excellence; Walter Jann, Legend Valve; Dan Chiles, Watts Radiant; Tom Crandell, Ferris State University; Steve Allen, United Association; and Scott Berger, MCERF.
