Spectroline Announces a Leak Detection Dye that Works With All Refrigerants

Spectroline has introduced AR-GLO 4/E  leak detection dye, which the company says  can be used in any air-conditioning or refrigeration system, no matter what type of refrigerant or lubricant is in the system. AR-GLO 4/E contains no co-solvents and it does not have any adverse effect on the viscosity or lubricity of the system's oil and will not corrode hoses, seals or other components, the company says.

When AR-GLO 4/E is added to the system, it circulates with the refrigerant and oil. If there are any leaks, the oil/dye mixture will escape with the refrigerant. Although the refrigerant will evaporate, it leaves behind a trace of AR-GLO 4/E. When the system is scanned with a high-intensity Spectroline ultraviolet or UV/blue light lamp, the residual dye will fluoresce a bright yellow-green, revealing the precise location of every leak, allowing technicians to pinpoint leaks quickly and accurately, the company describes.
