The Alliance to Save Energy has announced that its 2012 “Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Dinner” will take place Oct. 3 at Andew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. This year marks the 20th commemoration of the Alliance’s prestigious awards ceremony as well as the organization’s 35th anniversary.
The black-tie affair typically draws more than 500 energy leaders from industry, government and academia and recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated a significant and tangible commitment to the cause of energy efficiency.
Individuals, companies, and organizations can be nominated for any of the 2012 Star of Energy Efficiency award categories, including:
Charles Percy Award for Public Service
Recognizes an individual for an outstanding public service contribution and/or a lifetime commitment to EE.
“Galaxy” Star of Energy Efficiency
Recognizes outstanding achievements in EE for entities earning more than $150 million in annual revenue.
“Super Nova” Star of Energy Efficiency
Recognizes outstanding achievements in EE for entities earning less than $150 million in annual revenue.
“Andromeda” Star of Energy Efficiency
Recognizes outstanding achievements in EE for entities earning less than $10 million in annual revenue.
“I-Star” Award for Energy Efficiency
Recognizes the outstanding contributions to EE achieved through special projects or activities overseas that are led by nominees based outside of U.S. territories.
“Innovative” Star of Energy Efficiency Award
Recognizes an emerging technology or service that has the potential to transform a sector of the EE market but which, given the early stage of the innovation, has yet to generate proven savings.
Nominations must be submitted by Friday, March 30, 2012. Nominations submitted by Friday, Feb. 10 will receive $50 off the nomination fee.
