American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning has launched a new line of geothermal systems, which may qualify for a federal tax credit of up to 30 percent of the installation cost through 2016, depending on its configuration. The new geothermal systems are compatible with all American Standard Platinum, Gold and Silver thermostats.
The systems are recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency as one of the most efficient ways to heat and cool a home, according to the company. It can return up to $4 of heat for every $1 of electricity. They use less energy, reducing a home’s carbon footprint and with insulated cabinets, they’re quiet and provide consistent temperatures throughout the year, the company adds.
The systems are backed by a 10-year warranty.
The company’s AccuLink Remote Thermostat and the Schlage LiNK web-based interface complement the system’s functionality. With online remote access from most web-enabled cell phones or computers, homeowners can control several aspects of a home, from Z-Wave enabled lights and small appliances to the heating and air conditioning system.
In addition, it provides seven day programming with four settings per day and sends text alerts for filter changes and maintenance reminders before the heating and cooling seasons begin.
