WaterFurnace Renewable Energy, Inc., is pleased to announce Universal Supply Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Colonial Commercial Corp. (OTC Bulletin Board: “CCOM,” “CCOMP”), is its newest distributor of GeoStar brand geothermal heat pumps.

GeoStar is a division of WaterFurnace Renewable Energy, a manufacturer of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional geothermal and water source heat pumps.

Colonial distributes heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts and accessories, climate control systems, and plumbing and electrical supplies and equipment to professional contractors in the states of New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and eastern Pennsylvania through its subsidiaries: Universal Supply Group, Inc., The RAL Supply Group, Inc., American/Universal Supply Division, and S&A Supply, Inc.

These contractors purchase and install equipment and systems for residential, commercial and industrial users. Colonial also provides control system design, custom control panel fabrication, technical field support, in-house training and climate control consultation for engineers and installers. The company is a leader in the design of direct digital control systems and systems that control multi-location facilities through the Internet.

Geothermal units are similar to ordinary heat pumps, but use energy stored just below ground-level to provide heating, air conditioning and hot water. In the winter, heat is brought in through a loop, concentrated, and then delivered throughout the home to utilize that stored energy. During summer, excess heat in the home is removed and put back into the earth. Because geothermal units use the earth’s natural heat, they are among the most efficient and comfortable heating and cooling technologies currently available.

A GeoStar unit can reduce a homeowner’s annual costs for heating, cooling and hot water by as much as 60 percent, per year, according to the company.

The GeoStar line includes the G Series geothermal heat pumps with units available from 2 to 6 tons, and up to 4.8 COP and 28 EER, plus console units and indoor and outdoor splits; and the Q Series all-in-one geothermal boiler, furnace and air conditioner; and the Y Series geothermal heat pumps with optional hot water heater. Accessories make the GeoStar brand complete with thermostats, geothermal storage tanks and air handlers. The entire line is also available in water source commercial versions, including horizontal, vertical, S.C.A.V., and reversible chillers up to 50 tons. All units are AHRI certified and ENERGY STAR rated, as applicable.
