AccuClean removes up to 99.98 percent of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns—1/300th the diameter of a human hair. AccuClean can be installed in new systems, or as an upgrade to American Standard systems installed up to 10 years ago. Later this year, American Standard expects to launch a version that can be retrofitted onto competitor’s systems.

Like other electronic air cleaners (EACs), AccuClean is designed to attract and charge the airborne particles, which are then attracted and collected on an oppositely charged surface. AccuClean’s advantage, is a patented intense field dielectric (ifD) technology which catches more particles, more consistently, at almost twice the efficiency. AccuClean’s field charger has a lattice of large holes through which all system air and airborne particles pass. Centered in each opening is an ion-emitting needle, instead of the ionizing wires used in other EACs.
