The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York recently honored Michael Senter, CEO of ABCO Refrigeration Supply Corp., a Luxaire HVAC distributor, at its annual “When You Wish Upon A Star” Gala on May 11.

Senter was honored for extraordinary service and fundraising during his past four years as a member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York’s Board of Directors. For the 2006 Gala alone, he spearheaded ABCO’s HVAC industry initiative to raise more than $450,000 and, thereby, granting up to 65 wishes for children, served by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York.

Over the past four years, ABCO has raised more than $160,000 by hosting around 20 events to raise money for the Make A-Wish Foundation.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Formed in 1981, it is the largest wish-granting charity in the world.

“Luxaire dealers and distributors throughout the country have generated more than one million dollars since 2001,” said David Williams, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. “Thanks to their support, approximately 200 courageous children being treated for life-threatening medical conditions have had their wishes granted.”
