New Air Handler Designed With the Dealer in Mind

Trane has introduced the Hyperion™ air handler, which is constructed more like a refrigerator than a typical air handler. Insulation between the walls of the innovative Air-Tite™ II cabinet prevents condensation that may cause damage to the air handler itself or a consumers home. In addition to eliminating “sweating,” the cabinet also eliminates the loose fibers from fiberglass insulation that may enter the air stream with other air handlers. Hyperion’s exclusive double-wall construction provides families with peace of mind and cleaner, safer indoor air.

The ease of installation offered by the Hyperion air handler comes from its modular design and smaller size. For the first time ever, installing an air handler can be a one-person job from start to finish. The Hyperion’s innovative and unique design allows four-way installation flexibility right out of the box, eliminating baffles or the need to reposition the coil or drain pan.

The Trane Hyperion Air Handler Features:

  • The industry’s only modular cabinet disassembles in less than two minutes for quick one-person installation.
  • Major components slide-out for easy accessibility with the state-of-the-art integrated rail system.
  • Double-walled, Air-Tite II cabinet eliminates the need for exposed insulation and helps prevent energy loss with the use of airtight plugs instead of conventional knockouts. This reduces the unit’s carbon footprint and provides a cleaner environment.
  • Quick-turn fasteners stay with the cabinet doors for convenience.
  • Panel identifiers facilitate easier installation and service.
  • All-aluminum, 100-percent-recyclable coil is exponentially more durable than standard copper coils, which are susceptible to formicary corrosion.
  • The exclusive Trane Vortica™ Blower provides reliable, ultra-quiet operation, so homeowners can hear each other instead of their heating and cooling system.
  • Electronic expansion valves provide the ability to change refrigerants with a simple dip switch selection and are more reliable than standard thermostatic expansion valves found in many air handlers.
  • Refrigerant and condensate connections are located right in front, making it easier to install and service.
