Johnson Controls recently extended its line of YORK® model YCWL water-cooled scroll chillers to include models ranging from 50 to 200 tons of refrigeration (175 to 700 kW).
Model YCWL water-cooled scroll chillers are the first chillers to use scroll compressors that are optimized for water-cooled rather than air-cooled duty, according to the company. As a result, the high-performance chillers can achieve an energy efficiency ratio (EER) as high as 16.2 at full load and 24.5 at part load conditions.
Charged with environmentally responsible R-410A refrigerant, which has no ozone-depletion potential and no phase-out schedule, the compact chillers are designed to fit through a standard 3-foot door for ease of installation in both new and retrofit applications.
With lowMCAs, model YCWL water-cooled scroll chillers reduce wiring costs on new installations and maximize capacity on retrofit projects. Also offered is a heat-pump mode for recovery of waste heat, bringing significant operating-cost savings to building owners.
