Baldor Electric Company, Fort Smith, Arkansas-based manufacturer of energy-saving industrial electric motors, mechanical power transmission products, drives and generators, announces the availability of a bearing protection ring as an option on Baldor Reliance motors.

The manufacturer, Electro Static Technology, says that its AEGIS SGR™ Bearing Protection Ring™ protects the motor bearings from shaft currents induced by adjustable speed drives.  Electro Static Technology guarantees that any new motor up to 100 HP/75kW will not fail from electrical bearing fluting damage for the life of the motor when the AEGIS SGR Bearing Protection Ring is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.  If electrically induced fluting damage occurs, Electro Static Technology will replace the motor bearings free of charge.  The guarantee is subject to the terms and conditions of the AEGIS SGR Guarantee Program.

AEGIS SGR rings are specified by many HVAC, pump and conveyor manufacturers to mitigate adjustable speed drive circulating currents and prolong bearing life.  AEGIS SGR rings are available as an option on Baldor Reliance custom motors or they can be installed on a stock motor in Baldor’s Mod Express Department and shipped within a few days.
