American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning introduces the Freedom 95 Comfort-R(TM) Variable-Speed, Modulating Communicating Furnace. This furnace became available to dealers in September.
The American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning Freedom 95 fully modulating gas furnace uses temperature data from the 900 Family 7-day Digital Programmable Comfort Control thermostat to calculate its own heating cycle. It then adjusts the heat output with a fully modulating gas valve for the most even, comfortable heat consumers have ever experienced.
This precise level of fuel control makes the Freedom 95 incredibly efficient, earning the ENERGY STAR(R) rating, meeting strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy. Most models also qualify for the federal energy efficiency tax credit, the company says.
The furnace comes equipped with AccuLink(TM) capability. This enables the system to communicate its status and settings to the AccuLink Comfort Control, while also allowing optional remote monitoring and programming by phone. It also relays diagnostics to installers or servicers for responsive maintenance.
The Freedom 95 variable-speed blower motor operates at a lower, more efficient speed than a conventional blower motor. Also equipped with a fully modulating gas valve, this furnace is designed to be highly reliable, operating between 40 and 100 percent.
For installers, the new furnace has a three-wire simplified connection to the Comfort Control that enables faster, easier installation. Like all Freedom 95 models, it has direct drive multi-speed blower motors with aluminized steel heat exchangers and three-row secondary heat exchangers, among other reliability and comfort features.
