NuTone 13-SEER Units More Compact

NuTone 2-, 2.5- and 3-ton 13-SEER R-410A air conditioners have recently been updated with microchannel coil technology. As opposed to traditional tub-in-fin coils with copper tubes and aluminum fins, microchannel uses an all-aluminum construction. NuTone’s 13-SEER microchannel condensing units are 8 inches shorter than their tube-in-fin predecessors, making them lighter to handle and easier to install. In fact, the 2-ton FS4BD Series model is just 24 ¼ inches tall. The smaller coil mass also means the NuTone units use less refrigerant — up to 42% less than traditional 13-SEER units. Microchannel coils also clean up easily with just a power washer, and the single-metal design means that they resist salt spray better than conventional coils. www.nordyne.com
