Chase Paymentech, a leading merchant acquirer and payment processor, and Angie’s List, the nation’s pre-eminent provider of consumer ratings on local service providers, announced their alliance to make affordable credit card and electronic payment acceptance available to many service providers.
Many small businesses have been challenged by the costs and setup processes required to accept credit card payments. A study conducted by Angie’s List indicated that 41 percent of the service providers rated by the company’s members (including plumbers, electricians and general contractors) do not currently accept electronic payments. Angie’s List Merchant Services offers a simple setup in order to gain access to secure and reliable platforms at very competitive rates.
The alliance, called Angie’s List Merchant Services, allows service providers named on Angie’s List access to Chase Paymentech’s payment platforms at preferential rates, allowing many service companies their first opportunity to accept electronic payments.
“Through our alliance with Angie’s List, our goal is to enable small businesses who traditionally might not accept cards an opportunity to do so,” said Chase Paymentech Group Executive of Partnership Programs, Peter Gasparro.
