Knox Elected SMACNA Vice President

 

SAN ANTONIO — Jack Knox, president of R.F. Knox Company Inc. of Smyrna, Ga., was elected by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association’s (SMACNA) Board of Directors to serve as vice president.

“I know and understand the value of being a SMACNA member and why it is important to give back to the industry,” Knox said. “My company has grown to the size it is today through our partnership with SMACNA.”

He currently serves on the SMACNA Board of Directors and is a trustee of the Sheet Metal Workers’ National Supplemental Savings Fund.

Involved in legislative issues for years, Knox has served on SMACNA’s Legislative Committee, SMAC PAC Committee and as co-chair of the Political Pacesetters Council. He has also served on the Business and Financial Management Committee and Director Nominating Committee and been a SMACN-IFUS trustee and member of the Blue Book Sheet Metal and HVAC Equipment Task Force.

Active in the Georgia-SMACNA chapter, Knox has served as president, vice president, secretary-treasurer and on the chapter’s Board of Directors. His local chapter involvement also includes participation on the Legislative, Negotiating, Education and Joint Labor/Management committees and as a trustee of the Local Industry Fund, Pension Plan and Health Plan.

Knox is the fourth-generation owner of his family’s business, R.F. Knox Company Inc., which began 100 years ago in 1914 with six employees. The firm now employs 250 individuals and completes up to 2,500 projects a year.

Knox entered the sheet metal industry as an estimator and graduated with a degree in business from Auburn University. He is on the Board of Directors of North Metro Church and a committee member of the Center for Family Resources.
