Optimally Humidify Entire Home

Source 1, the aftermarket arm of Johnson Controls residential heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) brands, now offers four additional premium IAQ products— the hybrid electronic air cleaner, the deluxe media air cleaner, whole home humidifiers, and UVC germicidal single and dual lights. All of these products are available under the York, Coleman and Luxaire brands.

The small and large bypass humidfiers and the high capacity, fanpowered humidifier are for almost any home with a forced air system. They optimally humidify the entire home with the combination of the solenoid valve and water distribution system. The outside casting and interior components are made from durable UV-resistant plastic that are color-matched to the furnace and air handler.

The deluxe media air cleaner provides a true MERV 10 rating through the entire life of the media element. It is highly efficient and removes 97 percent of pollen-sized particles and 70 percent of all mold and spore-sized particles. It has the lowest leakage and bypass air in the industry, and is easy to maintain with a one- to two-year service life.

The hybrid electronic air cleaner offers ultra-high efficiency equivalent to MERV 16. It works in conjunction with an electronic section. It is never less than 94 percent efficient at trapping particles as small as 0.35 micron in size. The unit is rated to 2000 cfm, with measured resistance of 0.14” wg at 1200 cfm and 0.29” wg at 2000 cfm.

The UVC germicidal single and dual lights eliminate foul odors and enhance indoor air quality by reducing fungi, bacteria and other pollutants. The system provides maximum dosage of UVC energy at 45 to 55 degrees F in a rapidly moving air stream.

Quickly Illustrate Cost Advantages of Dual Fuel

Wrightsoft introduces a module to the Right-Suite Universal, the Right- SolarDHW. This module calculates the performance and operating cost savings of solar domestic hot water heating systems. It helps contractors illustrate the operating cost advantages of using a dual fuel comfort solution drawing on renewable energy resources for homeowners and business owners. By integrating the solar option with additional water heating equipment as a back-up fuel source, a contractor can instantly produce operating cost comparisons, including statewide or federal tax benefits and incentives. High-speed computations factor the orientation of the collector types, such as the slope and azimuth, and the module includes a built-in library of solar and weather data.

Low-Cost, Non-Intrusive, Eco-Conscious Heater

ECO-heater is a portable electric heating panel that mounts on any type of wall without exposed wires, gas or fans. It is energy efficient, economical, and effective at heating a 10’ x 12’ room using only 400 Watts, and for less than four cents per hour. ECOheater is safe. It operates at a low temperature with no moving parts or exposed heating elements. The wallmounted panel is 23 ¼ inches x 23 ¼ inches and positions approximately ¾ inch away from the wall. It has a super silk PVA waterproof surface.

Portable Refrigerant Leak Detector

Spectronics Corporation introduces the ELD-1000 PRO-Alert, a portable refrigerant leak detector that features a highperformance heated-diode sensor technology to accurately detect refrigerant leaks as small as 0.03 to 0.06 oz/year. The PRO-Alert features dual-sensitivity controls: a high-sensitivitysetting when initially checking the general leak area, and a lowsensitivity setting to hone in on the exact leak site. It is self-calibrating to neutralize background contamination; sensitive to CFS, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants; and eliminates the need to reset or switch for different refrigerants. It is cordless and compact with a 17 inch long, chrome-plated, flexible metal probe. It has a built-in positive displacement pump that draws a test sample into the detector for fast, accurate sensing.

Tube Integrity System Provides Fire Safety

Space-Ray Infrared Heaters debuts a new line of positive pressure, low intensity tube heaters with a patentpending Tube Integrity Safety System. The PTS/PTU series heaters have capacities ranging from 40,000 BTU/ hr to 200,000 BTU/hr and minimum mounting heights of 10 to 18 feet. The heaters come in natural or propane gas; a choice of one-stage or two stage input controls; and a totally enclosed burner box that places all of the power, thermostat and gas connection in one central location. The PTS heaters were designed primarily for complete building heating and are available in straight, L-shaped, Z-shaped or expanded U-shaped configurations. The PTU heaters were designed for high heat-loss areas and spot heating and are available in seven U-shaped configurations.
