Air Doors Protect IAQ

Ruskin Air Doors draw as little as .8 amps, can generate as much as 2,342 cfm air flow, and make a minimum amount of noise as they keep dirt, dust, and fumes from entering your facility. Sound pressure levels range from 59 dBA to 63 dBA.

The doors are available in many colors and for doorways ranging from 32-in. to 80-in. wide and up to 8-ft. high. When used on exterior doors, windows, and walk-in refrigeration units, Air Doors prove effective at controlling temperature, while preserving air quality, making them ideal for restaurants, supermarkets, retail stores, hospitals, hotels, banks, laboratories, libraries, and manufacturing facilities.

Bryant’s Perfect Air Purifier Stresses Ease

Bryant’s Perfect Air Purifier promises air quality for homeowners by capturing and killing airborne bacteria, viruses, and mold spores. With high-particle efficiency, the Perfect Air Purifier treats 100% of the hvac system’s airflow at up to 15 MERV efficiency. Bryant recommends dealers remind homeowners that even the cleanest homes can contain dirt, pollen, pet dander, and other airborne contaminants.

The Perfect Air Purifier requires little maintenance and no cleaning or washing. Homeowners have to only remove and replace the media cartridge periodically to maintain peak performance. The Perfect Air Purifier installs in the return air duct as part of the complete hvac system. It fits Bryant furnaces and air coils and, when used with Bryant’s Evolution System, provides even greater efficiencies.

Visual Inspection System Features DVD Recording Capability

Record, title, and play back your inspections on DVD, with the Super Inspector IV visual inspection system, recently introduced by Vac Systems International. A marketing, inspection, and quality assurance tool for residential or commercial air-duct cleaning contractors, the system features a small color camera with six variable intensity lights, a 50-ft. cable, four 4 ft. flexible rods, a shaft inspection bracket, and camera cart. A color monitor with DVD recorder and microphone allows for video documentation and playback. The foam-lined, aluminum extruded road case with retractable handle and tilt wheels protects the equipment and provides for easy transport.

The camera mounts onto the super RBS Brush & Air Wash Systems and the Super Cart spray system. It can be upgraded to a Super Trac robotic system.

Dryerbox and Dryer-Ell Get Greener

In-O-Vate Technologies announces that its Dryerbox and Dryer-Ell products have been “GreenSpec” listed and designated as “Green Products” with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) building credits. Dryerbox contributes two U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED credits to the builder, one for optimizing energy performance and one for innovative design features.

The Dryer-Ell contributes one energy credit for optimizing energy performance. Builders who want to get projects awarded Silver, Gold, or Platinum certification must build the project to meet certain performance benchmarks, or “credits,” and using “green” products will help gain credits.

The Dryerbox is a UL classified metal receptacle that collects the flex exhaust hose neatly and safely behind the dryer. It helps keep homes safe and reduces service calls. It also takes up less space than traditional hoses by eliminating one elbow, which effectively gains 5 ft. of duct run under most building codes.

The Dryer-Ell is a re-engineered metal dryer exhaust fitting that has a larger radius and a smooth interior, which provides a net gain of approximately 4.8 ft. in allowable duct length when used as a replacement to a standard 4 in. ell.

Trane Offers Dehumidification Technology

Health-care facility managers and others now can add Trane’s Cool, Dry, Quiet (CDQ) dehumidification technology to standard or custom air handling units to greatly improve their dehumidification capabilities. This new technology removes more water from the coil — up to 200% more water per hour; allows the dew point to be lowered 5F to 15F, without lowering the chilled water temperature; and eliminates the need to use excess energy to sub-cool and then reheat the air to achieve a low dew point.

The technology works by breaking the Dewpoint Barrier: Standard air conditioner coils have limited dehumidification capacity, because the air dewpoint cannot be lower than the coil temperature. Trane’s CDQ unit breaks this barrier by using an innovative new technology — the Trane CDQ wheel. Add this wheel to a standard or custom unit and it transfers water from the supply air to the return air or mixed air. Result: The cooling coil removes more water.

The innovation resulted from a two-year research and development project partly funded by the Department of Energy.
