NORDYNE introduces the iQ Drive® modulating furnace, which the company says, delivers the industry’s widest range of modulation and, paired with a 23-SEER air conditioner, the most efficient split system.
The iQ Drive furnace can modulate between 15 and 100 percent of capacity to exactly meet the home’s heating demands. It reevaluates the heating load every 60 seconds and adjusts its modulation accordingly, maintaining very tight temperature control. With complete system monitoring, service notifications, error codes and on-board diagnostics, the iQ Drive controller can also save the contractor time on service calls. In addition, the controller is what allows the iQ Drive furnace to modulate down to as low as 15 percent of capacity, the lowest percentage of modulation currently available, the company reports.
The new iQ Drive furnace reports a 97+% AFUE, heating efficiency, and, when paired with a matched 13- or 14-SEER outdoor unit, the iQDrive furnace also increases cooling efficiency by up to 1 SEER point.
