Broan Launches Two Inverter-Driven Products

Broan heating and cooling introduces two new inverter-driven products: The new iQ Drive FT4BG split-system heat pump and iQ Drive R6GI gas pack.

The Broan iQ Drive FT4BG split-system heat pump achieves up to 19 SEER and 10 HSPF thanks to its inverter-driven rotary compressor. This model is available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 ton capacities.

The Broan iQ Drive R6GI gas pack is the industry’s most cooling-efficient gas pack, reaching a groundbreaking 20 SEER along with 81 percent AFUE. It’s also available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 ton capacities.

“Inverter-driven products are the future of the industry,” says Dave Garvin, product manager at Broan. “They’re quiet, produce an exceptionally comfortable indoor environment and are highly efficient. Now with these new Broan products, we’re making inverter technology mainstream.”

Both new models modulate from approximately 40 percent to 118 percent of capacity in five steps, making constant, small adjustments. Quiet operation is another homeowner benefit, with both models operating as quietly as 59 dBA. Contractors will appreciate that both models use two-stage thermostats and do not require shielded cable.

The Broan FT4BG heat pump and R6GI gas pack join two other inverter-driven iQ Drive products – the 24.5 SEER FS4BI air conditioner and 22 SEER FT4BI heat pump – making this the industry’s most complete lineup of inverter systems.
