HVACR Business Continues Steady Growth

WESTLAKE, Ohio — HVACR Business, the HVACR management magazine, has strengthened its leadership position with the recent addition of Tony D'Avino as Director, Business Development, Pete Grasso as Editor and Bruce Sprague as Circulation Manager.

"We’re both proud and excited to welcome Bruce, Pete and Tony to the family," said Terry Tanker, publisher of HVACR Business. "I'm confident they're going to cement our leadership position by taking this magazine to new heights."

Tony D'Avino is a career business media professional, who has led B2B brand sales, marketing and growth efforts most recently for Advanstar Communications/Questex Media as Executive Vice President. He has diverse industry experience including manufacturing and supply chain, pest control, landscape and golf course maintenance as well as the professional beauty industry.

Before joining Advanstar, D'Avino functioned as Advertising Director for Penton Media's flagship publication, Industry Week, during the most prolific growth period in the magazine's history.

"I've known Tony for many years," Tanker said. "He's done so many great things throughout his career, and now he’s going to be doing great things for us; I couldn't be more excited."

Prior to his career in business media, D'Avino was a teaching tennis professional, having the honor of working for Dr. Alex Mayer, who's sons Gene and Sandy were world-ranked professionals during their era. D'Avino is a graduate of Montclair State University. He currently resides in Westlake, Ohio with his wife and two children.

Pete Grasso has spent his career working in and with trade media, both as a public relations practitioner and as an editor. Over the course of five years he developed and implemented public relations strategies for Duck brand duct tape, Bosch power tools, Alcoa wheels, Glidden paint and the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA).

Grasso also has extensive experience on the editorial side of the desk. First, as an associate editor for Penton Media's Contracting Business magazine and later as managing editor for Questex Media's Pest Management Professional magazine, where his monthly columns, feature stories and popular blog provided practical and sound business information for owners and technicians alike.

"Pete's business sense and keen eye for detail will make an immediate impact on the pages of HVACR Business," Tanker said. "His unique background is a great fit for the direction in which we're headed."

A graduate of Ohio Northern University, Grasso currently resides in Avon Lake, Ohio with his wife April.

"Bruce has wide ranging experience in all aspects of audience development," Tanker said. "With more than 25 years in the industry, he is a valuable resource for our magazine."
