The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) recently announced a new Safety Excellence Award, sponsored by Federated Insurance.

The Safety Excellence Award is a way to recognize premier member companies that have made a significant commitment to safety as an integral part of their philosophy.

These companies have implemented safety programs designed to protect their employees and the public while reducing their annual workers compensation rates and the costs related to accidents. The award has been divided into three categories designed to provide an opportunity for the small contractor, the mid-sized contractor, and the larger contractors to compete.

"Many ACCA member companies are investing their time and money in safety programs to ensure that their team members have safe and healthy work environments," said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president & CEO.

"We are recognizing these companies, because they are setting an example of how all contractors should run their businesses, because it not only creates a better work environment, but also saves the company money in reduced insurance premiums and accident costs. We are thankful our partners at Federated Insurance are supporting ACCA recognizing these contractors by sponsoring this award," he added.

Applications for the award are due April 19, 2013. The winners will be announced no later than July 31, 2013, and will be recognized at ACCA 2014 taking place March 17 - 20, 2014, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Download the application on the organization’s website or email Charlie McCrudden to receive a copy.
