ACCA Honors Top Contractors

ARLINGTON, Va. — ACCA recently recognized MSI Mechanical Systems Inc. of Salem, New Hampshire, and Welsch Heating & Cooling Co. of St. Louis as its 2016 Commercial and Residential Contractors of the Year, respectively.

Both contractors will formally receive the awards March 12 at the morning MainStage event of ACCA 2016 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"We had more innovative commercial contractors apply for this award this year than ever before," said Paul Stalknecht, president and CEO, ACCA. "Our judges always have an extremely tough decision to make when they pick the recipient. This year's commercial winner, MSI Mechanical, illustrates the characteristics that all the best commercial contractors in the country have in common."

MSI Mechanical's dedication to recruiting and growing a new generation of quality employees through a co-op program with local high schools made the company stand out to the judges. With the demand for qualified employees throughout the country, this unique program, which the company developed more than a decade ago, serves as a great example for other contractors to grow the workforce.

"On behalf of the entire MSI Mechanical team and especially to my father along with my wife and family, it's with great honor I accept this prestigious award from ACCA," said Brian Hooper, vice president of operations, MSI. "Not one single person has made this company what it is today; it's been a joint effort from a number of dedicated and hardworking individuals. Together, our team strives to be the best we can be. It is especially rewarding to be recognized for our efforts by our industry peers."

Welsch Heating & Cooling was the standout residential candidate in 2016 due to the company's dedication to the industry for more than 120 years. Welsch's has worked hard to create a culture of service that starts with its employees being seen as a family and empowering them to do the right thing for the customer every time.
