Thermostat Recycling Corporation Announces 2013 Big Man On Planet Competition

COLUMBUS, OH – Thermostat Recycling Corporation (TRC) has announced the 2013 Big Man On Planet (BMOP) competition, in partnership with Heating Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI), will begin on May 15th, 2013.

BMOP will run through October 31st and all HARDI members are encouraged to enter now by signing up at www.thermostat-recycle.org/BMOP to receive free promotional materials before the competition begins.

BMOP encourages HARDI members to promote TRC’s mercury thermostat collection program at their branches nationwide to recover the most thermostats. Winners will be chosen by TRC and recognized at HARDI’s annual conference, December 7-10 in Phoenix, AZ.

“The BMOP competition taps into the hardworking and competitive nature of HARDI members to encourage the recovery of more mercury thermostats nationwide. Winners of this award will be distinguished from their competitors for being publicly recognized for their commitment to protecting the environment,” said Mark Tibbetts, TRC executive director.

Interested distributors already collecting through TRC’s program can enter the competition by signing up and requesting a promotional kit at www.thermostatrecycle.org/BMOP.

For those not yet participating in the collection program and are interested in doing so, more information is available at www.thermostat-recycle.org, or by calling 888-266-0550.
